Bike Bus

Yay Shepardson Stars!!!

Creating community, one ride at a time!

Shepardson Bike Bus helps kids and families start the school day with movement, community, and fun. By riding together to school as a group, students build confidence, enjoy fresh air, and experience biking as a safe, social, and joyful way to get to school.

The Bike Bus supports healthy habits, reduces traffic around campus, and helps create a more connected school community — one ride at a time.

Born to Play. Built to Move.

Ride Bike Bus

Riding is easy, just show up anywhere along the route and ride!

We roll out at 8:20am, you can join us at the start point or hop in as we ride by.

The Route

This is our first year launching a Bike Bus at Shepardson Elementary, and we’re starting with a simple route through the neighborhood.

The route is designed to make it easy for families to join in, whether you want to start at the beginning or meet us along the way.

We’ll share updates here if the route changes as the Bike Bus grows.

Get Involved!

Bike Bus is powered by families and community support, and we’d love your help getting it rolling.

You can help by riding along, cheering from the route, helping with safety at intersections, sharing route updates, or bringing fun energy like bubbles, music, or encouragement.

Big help or small help — it all makes Bike Bus more exciting for our kids.

You’ve got questions,
we’ve got answers

  • A Bike Bus is a group of kids led by adults who ride their bikes to school together along a set route, picking up riders along the way — just like a bus, but on bikes!

It’s a fun, safe, and active way to get to school while building confidence, independence, and community.

  • Kids should be confident riders and able to start, stop, and ride steadily without assistance in order to safely participate in the Bike Bus.

Scooters, one wheels, and runners are welcome too — if you can keep up, come join the fun!

If your child is still learning, they’re absolutely welcome to join in a bike seat, trailer, or tag-along with an adult.

  • Nope! Just check out the route and be ready to join in when the Bike Bus rolls by.

We always love extra grown-up help, too — if you’d like to ride along or volunteer, you can sign up in advance here.

  • To help keep the Bike Bus safe and fun for everyone:

    • Helmets are required

    • Riders stay behind the group leaders and don’t ride ahead

    • Follow traffic rules and listen to ride leaders

    • Be kind, respectful, and look out for one another

    • Big kids look out for and help the littles

Parents and caregivers are responsible for deciding if their child is ready to ride in a group setting.

Pedal. Smile. Repeat.
